What is Startpage?

Startpage is a privacy-focused search engine that delivers Google search results without tracking, logging, or storing user data. It was founded in 2006 and is operated by Startpage B.V., based in the Netherlands. Startpage also offers an anonymous browsing feature called Anonymous View.

Key Features

• Private search results: Powered by Google without tracking or logging.
• Anonymous View: Proxy browsing to visit websites anonymously.
• No IP logging: No IP address or personal data storage.
• HTTPS encryption: Secure connection by default.
• No cookies: No cookies by default.
• Browser extension: Available for various browsers.
• Default search option: Can be set as default search engine in many browsers.

How It Works

When you search with Startpage, your query is sent to Startpage's servers, which then fetch results from Google. No personal information is stored, and your IP address is hidden from Google. You can also use Anonymous View to browse any website without revealing your identity.

Privacy First

Startpage is based in the Netherlands, which has strict privacy laws. No data is logged, making it an excellent choice for those concerned about their online privacy.
