About Litmaps

What is Litmaps?

Litmaps is a specialized literature mapping tool that helps researchers and graduate students discover relevant academic papers and visualize relationships between them through interactive citation maps. It addresses the challenge of tracking interconnected research networks and provides an intuitive way to build a comprehensive map of a specific study field.

The problem it solves

It also provides real-time alerts when new papers cite your research or papers within your map.

Key Features

Interactive and visual citation mapping.
Literature discovery via seed papers and citation networks.
Real-time citation tracking with personalized alerts.
Collaborative features for team research.
Integration with reference managers like Zotero and Mendeley.

We were particularly impressed by its ability to transform a complex web of citations into an easy-to-understand visual map, making literature exploration more enjoyable and efficient. The integration with Zotero and Mendeley adds significant value, and the real-time alerts are an indispensable feature for any researcher wanting to stay current. Although the free plan is limited, it is sufficient to try the tool and understand its value. We highly recommend it to graduate students and researchers in any field.
